Description
Brenna Wristlet Structural Firefighting Gloves – NFPA 1971, Moisture-Barrier, PFAS-Free
The Brenna Wristlet structural firefighting glove (Order No. 8082) is built for interior attack crews who need high heat protection, proven moisture and pathogen defense, and strong dexterity under pressure. With a PFAS-free construction, NFPA 1971:2018 certification, and a Porelle® FR membrane, Brenna Wristlet gloves are engineered for the realities of modern structural fire operations.
Advanced Structural Heat Protection
The Brenna Wristlet glove uses a layered heat shield system designed for sustained high-temperature exposure and tough fireground conditions. The outer shell features:
- Split cowhide leather back, black
- Split cowhide leather palm, black
- Special leather treatment for heat, water, and abrasion resistance while remaining flexible
Underneath, thermo-protective layers on the back of the hand and thumb, combined with aramid non-woven fabric, increase heat, abrasion, and cut resistance. This design helps you maintain protection and performance when temperatures spike.
Moisture & Pathogen Barrier with Porelle®
To protect against fluids and contaminants, Brenna Wristlet gloves use a Porelle® P540 polyurethane FR membrane that:
- Creates a barrier against water, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and bacteria
- Remains highly breathable, reducing internal moisture buildup
- Stays flexible and sensitive, preserving tactility and tool control
- Maintains a firm, stable feel inside the glove
This moisture barrier lets you work in wet, contaminated environments with confidence and control.
Comfort, Dexterity & 3D Anatomical Fit
Inside, the glove is lined with increased-thickness aramid lining designed to improve both protection and comfort:
- Increases overall heat protection
- Will not stretch or pull out, even with repeated donning and doffing
- Allows easy don and doff even when wet
- Brushed on the reverse to trap more air, improving insulation and comfort
The Brenna Wristlet also features DuPont™ Nomex® fourchettes (fabric between the fingers) for breathable, heat-resistant flexibility. An Anatomical 3D cut supports a more natural hand position, delivering excellent grip, dexterity, and control of tools, nozzles, and patient care equipment.
Durable, PFAS-Free Shell Construction
Brenna Wristlet structural firefighting gloves are built with materials without intentional PFAS treatment, supporting evolving health and safety standards without compromising performance. The specially treated cowhide leather outer shell stands up to:
- Heat and flame
- Water and steam
- Abrasion and mechanical wear
This makes Brenna a strong option for departments looking to move away from PFAS-treated PPE while maintaining NFPA-compliant performance.
Secure Wristlet Design
The wrist portion of the Brenna Wristlet glove is designed for a secure, close fit that helps keep debris and heat out:
- Para-aramid knitted wristlet for snug, protective closure
- Elastic at the wrist to keep the glove seated and improve seal with the coat sleeve
This wristlet style offers a tight interface with turnout gear while maintaining wrist mobility for tool handling, ladder work, and rescue operations.
