Description
Safety Arm System™ 500 – Mounting System for Stryker® Stretchers
The Safety Arm System™ 500 is a secure mounting system engineered for Stryker® stretchers to safely transport portable medical devices directly on the cot. With its top-down movable arm, clamp block installation, and compatibility with Technimount’s Standard Surface Base and Bracket Pro Serie®, it keeps critical equipment locked in, accessible, and out of the way during EMS and critical care transport.
Safety and Flexibility Where It Matters Most
The Safety Arm System 500 is built for demanding EMS, hospital, and military environments where equipment stability is non-negotiable. The arm installs to the stretcher frame with a clamp block, creating a rigid, dedicated platform for portable devices that helps prevent movement and projectiles during abrupt stops, turns, and transport over uneven terrain.
Tested in compliance with SAE J3043, it meets the highest industry safety standards for the ground transport of medical devices, giving teams confidence that their mounting solution is designed for real-world conditions, not just spec sheets.
Designed for Stryker® Stretchers and Modern EMS Workflows
This mounting system is purpose-built for leading Stryker® stretcher models, integrating with existing fleet equipment without the need to modify the frame. It supports a wide range of environments, from 911 EMS and interfacility transport to air medical, hospital, and military applications.
By securing devices on the stretcher instead of loose surfaces, the Safety Arm System 500 helps crews standardize where equipment lives, reduces clutter in the patient compartment, and improves workflow repeatability from call to call.
Top-Down Movable Arm & Dual Locking Safety
At the core of the Safety Arm System 500 is a top-down movable arm that can be lowered or raised to support patient handling:
- Lowers to facilitate patient loading and unloading from both sides of the stretcher
- Locks into position using a dual mechanism: Lock Pin and red-handle Safety Pin
- Allows the Safety Arm System to be easily lowered or removed when needed
This design lets crews quickly adjust device position around critical procedures like lateral transfers or CPR, while still keeping the mounting solution secure in transit.
360° Device Access & Modular Compatibility
The Safety Arm System 500 uses Technimount’s Standard Surface Base to give full rotational access to mounted devices:
- 360° rotation of the medical device for optimal viewing and operation
- Universal mounting on the top plate for compatibility with Technimount products
- Works seamlessly with the Bracket Pro Serie® product line using a Standard bottom disc
The system is also compatible with:
- IV Pro Adapter (with or without Knee Gatch, patient left or right)
- Xtension Pro for additional mounting configurations
This modular approach lets services configure their device layout based on protocols, space constraints, and specific equipment loads.
Easy Clamp Block Installation & Removal
Installation is handled through a robust clamp block assembly that preserves the integrity of the stretcher:
- Clamp block secures the mounting system to the stretcher frame without drilling into the cot
- Lock Pin and Safety Pin retain the system in place during use
- Safety Arm System can be quickly released by removing the Lock Pin and manipulating the Safety Pin
- Arm can be fully removed for cleaning, maintenance, or reconfiguration
This makes it straightforward to decontaminate equipment, change setups, or perform stretcher maintenance without permanent modifications.
Protect Patients, Crews, and Equipment
By securely mounting portable devices directly on the stretcher, the Safety Arm System 500 helps:
- Reduce loose equipment and potential projectiles in the patient compartment
- Minimize the risk of damage or costly replacement of medical devices
- Improve access to equipment during transport and procedures
- Enhance overall safety for patients and personnel in EMS and Critical Care Transport
With options for right or left, straight or angled arms, agencies can optimize clearance and ergonomics for their specific ambulance layout and device mix.
