Description
Frazer Type 1 EMS Vehicle
The Frazer Type 1 EMS vehicle is a custom, generator-powered ambulance built for demanding Advanced Life Support (ALS) and rescue operations. Available in 12 ft and 14 ft modules on multiple truck chassis, it delivers independent 120V power, ultra-powerful air conditioning, and a rugged all-aluminum module that keeps medics safer, more comfortable, and more efficient on every call.
Built for Advanced Life Support & Rescue
The Type 1 EMS unit is Frazer’s most popular generator-powered ambulance, engineered around real-world EMS workflows. From interior layout to exterior storage, every detail is designed to help medics access gear fast, move freely, and stay focused on patient care instead of fighting the truck.
Rugged, All-Aluminum Construction
The Frazer Type 1 module is completely wood-free and built from fully welded, structural-grade aluminum tubing for long-term durability and safety. This rugged construction provides a strong, secure environment for medics and patients while standing up to heavy use and harsh conditions.
Bright white interior wall surfaces create a clean, clinical look and help improve visibility inside the patient compartment.
Independent Generator Power & Climate Control
Frazer Type 1 EMS vehicles are powered by an on-board 120VAC generator that provides full, independent power to the patient module without relying on the chassis alternator or battery system.
Key power and HVAC features include:
- 120VAC generator for full module power
- 125-amp power supply with lifetime warranty (120VAC to 12VDC)
- Automatic fail-safe system to maintain 12VDC power if the generator is interrupted
- 30-amp shore power receptacle for station use
- Self-contained 120VAC air conditioner/heater with UV light
- Proven 35° temperature differential performance
- Ability to run HVAC independent of the chassis
This setup reduces idling, lowers fuel consumption, extends chassis life, and delivers a lower cost of ownership.
14 ft Type 1 EMS Module – Maximum Space & Storage
The 14 ft Type 1 module is built for services that need a larger patient compartment and extra gear capacity.
14 ft highlights:
- Larger patient compartment for more equipment and bigger crews
- Stacked front cabinet options for organized storage
- Forward backboard compartment for fast access
- Door-forward layout option for custom workflows
- Secondary captain’s chair option
- Additional driver’s side compartment for expanded exterior storage
This configuration is ideal for busy systems, rescue-focused agencies, and departments carrying specialized gear such as extrication tools or additional medical equipment.
12 ft Type 1 EMS Module – Maneuverable and Efficient
The 12 ft Type 1 module is a versatile choice for most EMS services, balancing interior space with tighter maneuverability in congested areas or narrow streets.
12 ft highlights:
- Lower clearance for easier access to parking decks and tight bays
- More maneuverability in urban and suburban environments
- Efficient cabinet layouts designed for access while seated and belted
- Space for up to six medics to care for a patient at once
- Multiple cot retention options
- Optional 4″ taller module for added interior headroom
- Plenty of interior space without sacrificing handling
Interior Design & Storage
Frazer Type 1 interiors are laid out to maximize usable workspace and keep equipment within easy reach.
Standard interior features include:
- All-aluminum, powder-coated cabinets
- 12″ deep storage with scratch-resistant, shatter-proof polycarbonate cabinet doors
- Restocking cabinet door design
- Seamless, vacuum-formed cushions attached with heavy-duty magnets
- Vinyl flooring over an aluminum and polycarbonate laminate subfloor
- Center-mounted cot for efficient patient access from both sides
